Absolutely, they have made lots of video's where they pose with hostages and read statements, if I did not know the ending, I would have assumed it would be another video like the others, their general demenor in the video did not even seem violent till the knife came out.

So where are all the arm chair generals saying "it's war - shit happens"? whenever Iraq civilians get killed or the US/allies is the perpetrator of the violence.

I honestly find it very sad that there are people on here advocating killing of families and whatnot, but in a humourous way.. as in.. I'm laughing at your stupidity. It's easy to get worked up over one video of an american.. I wonder how many of you could stomach the months of death footage of every Iraqi that has died at our hands.

Many people can just say those civilian deaths are collateral damage "war happens" to explain away bad things.. but then in an impressive display of mental gymnastics they can suddenly want to use nukes because of one war death becuase it's from "our side". I just find it incredible that so many people can't divorce themselves of their nationalism or whatever else it is and are so easily led by video footage. (yes just like the iraqi prisoner abuse)

Anyways.. there are no easy answers, this post is more about the reaction of people here, and in no way defends the beheaders who weren't the Iraqi's you tools now want to blow up but Al Quaeda members who rightly should die. I don't know how to describe it, whether it's ignorance, base emotions, vengeance but it's not doing anyone any favours, yay lets drop a nuke, gee that would totally support our case, and when Al Quaeda lets off a dirty bomb or similar nuclear material you'll get ZERO sympathy from the rest of the world because the US did it first.
We either wipe out every single muslim on the planet in unprecedented genocide of a billion + or we spend billions more on intelligence, undercover and informant networks and eradicate these bastards, in tandem with actions designed so as to not create more of them - letting Israel fend for itself, get troops out of Saudi Arabia etc.
