Totally incorrect and misleading.. Why would we want to waste our time/resources spamming someone who is not interested in the product in question.. You can ask why all day long... but I did an expierment on this very subject after the first of the year (after CAN-SPAM went into action) and not only do people sell your names to other people, but they will continue to spam them themselves -- relentlessly- and these are US companies.

Most mailers track EVERYTHING from opening the emails, to clicktracking, to sales/county to... everything! So if you opened the mail you just opted yourself in to 100+ mailing lists

I had to close one of my email addresses becaused I used to believe I was doing the right thing by unsubscribing. It got to the point that everytime I logged on my account was full from all the spam. Sometimes it's legit, but many times I believe they use that "unsubscribe" tactic to verify that your email address is valid.Originally posted by stev0
