What do you mean is it exempt? It still has to comply with all the rules set up, ie: a way to opt-out, a time/date/IP stamp of when they opted in, etc
If you have any questions about the letter of the law, I suggest you read http://www.spamlaws.com/federal/108s877.html or do a Google search, and educate yourself: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&i...=Google+SearchComment

The can spam rules do apply to double opt-in e-mails.
They do not however apply to the changes that take effect on May 19th.
it is my understanding from reading the d.o.c.u.m.e.n.a.t.i.o.n.at the link below that " Prior Affirmative Consent" negates the need for a "Requirement to place warning labels on commercial electronic mail that contains sexually oriented material"
http://www.ftc.gov/os/2004/04/040413...lfinalrule.pdf
page 43.
hope that clears things up.
the short version is here:

IF they are true optin/double optin then you shouldnt have to worry about being compliant. But just to be on the safe side id comply incase you do have a few nasties hidden in the list.Originally posted by wiredguyHaving haters is a symbol that you've made it in this business
