Most people will be very secretive about their traffic sources. The best advice you'll get is to submit your site everywhere possible and see what works best for you.

Add text to it.

Make sure that there is a lot of descriptive text. Put sex stories on it , and it will get picked up by the SE. That traffic is some of the best that you can get.

Also try pay per click.

Look at other sites "Friends" list and trade traffic with them... Or banners...

Post you site to multiple "top-lists"

Don't forget Google and Yahoo

I asume by directory you mean a linklist type of site?

Make a category called other sites and list all other linksites you can find in there.

Then mail the owners of these sites for a link swap(be persistent as some tend to be lazy on the email

)

The ones that ignore you you delete from your list, the ones that do link back remain.

After that compile a new list of sites to add and repeat.

One you have the traffic flowing make it a point to at least add 10 new sites a day like that and swap links with those.
