Does anyone know if there is an opensource alternative to Photoshop? I really don't feel like buying 100 licenses.

Wouldn't they cut you a deal for 100 licenses? Only thing I can think of is GIMP. I personally like PSP, but I don't do anything graphic intensive.

                  Like they said GIMP.

Run a search on google to check out the shit people pull of with GIMP. Fucking amazing. Many big Hollywood Studios choose GIMP for there post production work.

When they want to have a legitimate operation that can't be taken down because it isn't doing anything illegal in any way, they do.

Gimp would be the way to go definately, its a different way of working than with photoshop, but an excellent alternative and powerful
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

If your crew knows photoshop already you are probably better off just buying it for them, rather than losing a week or more for them to learn the new software...

On a serious note, here are some other options:

                                      a) Work on your employee schedule, for example, open up a night shift, so instead of 100 licenses you only need 50 now. Or make half your employees work 7-3 and the rest 10-6. Of course don't schedule the two shifts on the same lunch and now you have an extra 3 machine hours per day per workstation. If you do 2 completly different shifts, you only need half the licenses.

                                      b) Make employees buy the license themselves to which you will reimburse them for it after they work for you for a min. period of time e.g. 6 months, 1 year

                                      c) Adam Smith, assembly line, work specialization. Make purely photoshop guys who only work with photoshop. They increase efficiency and you only need photoshop for these employees and not all employees.

These programs let you combine orders of Adobe's software products. Each product is assigned a point value and your discount level is based on the total number of points you accumulate. So the more you order, the more you save! And each licensing program comes with online tools that enable efficient software administration.

I doubt all 100 employees would be working at the same time. I know here on campus they do what's called a Metered App program.. they have PhotoShop installed on every PC, buy 50 licenses, and the Metered App restricts access to PS to 50 terminals at any given time.

They have pretty good site license prices.

what you need is a GIMP and nothing else compares to this soft.

i would strongly suggest to spend the money on Photoshop - there is no better. and there are a lot of things Gimp still can't do properly. you will only loose time - decide whats more worth to you.
