Don't take aspirin, if your nose is swollen aspirin can sometimes make it worse. I have had 2 broken noses, about the only thing you can do is put something cole on it. My preference is a bad of frozen peas or corn. They mold to the shape of your nose better and don't seem as "cold" You can lay a thin towel over your nose and then put the veggie bag on top.
If you think it might be broken, please get it checked or you might end up with a crooked nose or one with a bump in it.Comment

dont take asprin, that causes the platelets to loose their stickiness, and you wont clot as well. Take ibruprofen, or advil, or aleve, naproxin, because those are anti-inflamatories. Cool water compresses will help. But don't apply ice for more than 15 mins at a time.Comment

Ibuprofen (e.g. Advil, Motrin) is generally a good choice for reducing swelling. Aspirin could too, but you'd need to take a fair amount, which would generally be much likelier to cause adverse side effects. Acetaminophen (e.g. tylenol) would not be expected to reduce swelling.
That bag of frozen peas idea sounds like a good idea!Comment

Is the swelling a result of trauma? If so, cold is the best way to handle it. Ibuprofen can help too.
If the swelling is spontaneous, a number of causes may underly it... everything from simple acne to serious autoimmune problems. If you get spontaneous itchy swellings in soft, fleshy areas, talk to your doctor about something called angioneurotic edema (essentially a severe form of hives that causes swelling instead of rashes, the hereditary form of which is potentially fatal). Histimine reaction swellings are easily resolved with antihistimines, benedryl (diphenhydramine) being the most effective if you can tolerate the stone off it.
Good luck with your beak.
