It makes people feel important when they call out "spam". It's the same reason people post timeline pics, tell you that your news article has already been posted 2 times in the past or post about how much money they made today. It makes people feel bigger. Some people grasp at anything to really "stand out" on this board. I suppose it is because there are so many people here and so many things going on at one time. Basically, it's a cry for attention.
