BIG OPPORTUNITY...Someone should make a business out of this

Someone should go and make a library of encoded dvd's from all studios and just sell the encoded versions for Internet use.

This seems to be a problem for everyone but no one has made a business out of it yet.

Why sell just the encodings when you can sell the whole package? Most program owners don't have the time or the inclination to go to 50 studios, work out deals, cut them back 50 checks each month, try to stay on top of what product is selling, what product is not, what product has clear 2257 issues, what product doesn't and the list goes on. That would pretty much require a full time in house person to manage, so after the licensing fees and paying affiliates and all the other costs, you'd be adding another minimum 40k a year (the least I can see someone getting paid) to your expenses.

I think J$tyle$ is working on something like this.

Agreed it's a great business for someone. Many webmasters can't be bothered to rip and encode their own DVD's

EDIT:Mainstream:: END EDIT is Already done. Movielink.com

Did you mean adult. VOD is getting big. I know adultdvdempire does it for most of the major (and not so major) adult studios. Just started the HD VOD too which looks very promising
