kids are shuifted around the city during certain times and they shorten days and times classes for school kids and shuffle them around the city on bus school to school district to district.

They are working it out the best way they can, not sure how exactly they deal with other than what I hae read and its that they are shuffling kids between districts and where spots are available etc.

"At Balboa High School in San Francisco, it charges that "students stand in classes because there are not enough seats; some classes have as many as 53 students, without enough seats to accommodate all the students." At Redwood High School in Visalia, in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley where summer temperatures often pass 100 degrees, there's no air conditioning in many rooms."

I shit you not. We work with the Governors council and the Communities In Schools organization to bring back physical education back to public schools.

Thats crazy, with the war costing over 100 billion, you would think they could slip the schools a few hundred million and not even break a sweat

America has never, and will never put education as a priority.

If you educate the people of this country, they would turn against those in power.

An uneducated population is easier to control.

One would assume as you say, but thats not the case. They cut funding by 450 million and increased the number of students.

If it dodnt work the past 3 years , why would it work by increasing the number of students and cutting funding?

doesnt make any sense to me at all either

as I linked in this thread earlier, some Egyptian guy or whatever he was had to donate 40k to a Calif school to save it, and hes not even in this country

Anybody remember how the State lottery was supposed to help all of this and pay for school stuff in CA?

I seriously wonder where the money is or how much the schools really get.

                  http://abcnews.go.com/sections/us/Da...ney010825.html

"Some states, like Iowa, put lottery money in the state's general fund, but most target it toward a particular purpose ? environmental protection in Colorado, or school aid and crime control in Montana, for example.

Many experts say, however, that even when lottery money is targeted toward a particular purpose, such as education or environmental protection, it has little or no effect.

The lottery money does go to the intended cause. However, instead of adding to the funds for those programs, legislators factor in the lottery revenue and allocate less government money to the program budgets, says one lottery critic, Patrick Pierce, a political scientist at St. Mary's College in Indiana, who has analyzed the impact of lotteries.

"In the first year of a lottery there is a dramatic increase [in spending on education]," he says.

In subsequent years, however, the increase in education spending is much smaller than in states without lotteries, Pierce says, even when adjusting for inflation, number of children in a state, and other factors.

"Given a few years, a state would have spent more on education without a lottery," he concludes."

There are about 180,000 students in LAUSD without seats.

How many students in your state are without desks and seats to sit in while learning?

We can fund a war but we cant even give our children seats in california.
The government shouldnt be running a war in Iraq OR buying desks for schools. Governments shouldnt even be running schools to begin with. The government school system should be disbanded and replaced with private schools.

Most people havent yet figured out that most of thier taxes would disappear if the government got out of schools.

the teachers cannot teach because here you HAVE to know like 4 languages to be able to reach any one group of kids... more startling stats.

One of the largest budget cuts will be to the increase of class size. The LAUSD will save about $48 million by increasing the average class size for 4th-12th grades?bringing many classes to 40 or more.

While the budget will be cut about 8%, the number of students enrolled in LAUSD will increase by over 13,000 to almost 750,000.
When I was young the kids LEARN english PERIOD. if They did it I'm sure the kids now days can also. The schools I went 2 in Texas we had like around 30% Spanish speaking and they LEARNED english, and I must say they learned very fast.

So what's the Diff. in kids today and in the 1950's when I started school? NONE

And i might add we had 30 plus kids in each class.

                              I am all for it.

I am tired of paying for everyone elses kids anyway.

I am also for licensing people to have kids. If you need a license to drive a car, you should need one to bring children into this world.

Also, isnt PUBLIC SCHOOL a communist concept?

Why is America running old communist ideas anyway ;)

I agree, get rid of school and stop people from breeding.

America is like one big baby camp, mom after mom cant keep her fucking legs closed and the entire US pays for it.

I hate people who have kids and live off the government here.

I dont want to say much more, I will make myself look hateful if I do.

people should NOT be allowed to do all the things they do, period.

Very cool. I have a friend who just bought a house up there in Valencia because the schools are supposed to be good. Half a million for some little condo just because the schools in LA are so bad now.

Funny thing I absolutely hated p.e. when I was in school, but its a shame that the kids don't have it anymore.

yep, free school for kids is in fact, part of The Communist Manifesto.

A way to teach your kids whatever they want while you are at work.

                                  10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc.
