Do you know a study was done, some 20 years I believe that predicted exactly these sorts of results. I wish I could find the link, it was on CNN yesterday.
Basically, volunteers were split in to two groups: Guards and inmates. The "experiment" was to run for 6 weeks.
After just over 1 week, I believe, the experiment had to be ended. It got out of control. The people in the guards group, were doing things shockingly similar to what happened in Iraq. Strip searches, sexual posing and the whole nine yards.
The vast majority of the US millitary serving in Iraq are doing so honorably and with courage. If this was not the case, then you'd have a leg to stand on in regards to jailing top leadership.
There's no cover up going on here. It's being investigated and it's being made public. What more can the top brass do?.Comment

The fact that the vast majority of all US soldiers are serving with honor and dignity is not being credited positively to the President, or Deffense Secretary. Why are the deplorable acts of a very, very, very small percent of the armed forces to carry so much more weight the other direction?
