The thread that had the biggest impact on me was the one I wrote last year about my situation at home. I am not just being selfish and choosing a thread that impacted me because it was about me. The real impact from the thread was the incredible amount of support I got from strangers. Even some people who don't behave so nicely around here on a day-to-day basis went out of their way to contact me and to give me a little comfort with their words.

Another thing about the thread that blew me away was how many people I touched with it. I got literally hundreds of emails and ICQ messages from people who told me about their own experiences and told me how hard my story hit them. I had long conversations with a lot of you and some of you who were going through similar things leaned on me in return. Those of you who pay attention know I don't bring drama to the boards but I was overwhelmed by what was going on. All I can say is that the response was not what I expected from GFY.

Between the people who helped me and the people I was able to help, that thread easily impacted me the most of any on GFY. In fact, of any I have ever read or written anywhere. I don't mind if someone else posts a link but I won't do it, myself. I don't want to be an attention whore but I want the people who were there to know I haven't forgotten what they did for me.
