JUST when I was over PayPal's lunacy, they email me this:

    Dear valued PayPal member,

It has come to our attention, that your PayPal Billing Information records
are out of date. That requires you to update the Billing Information. If
you could please take 5-10 minutes out of your online experience and update
your billing records, you will not run into any future problems with
PayPal's online service. However, failure to update your records will
result in account termination. Please update your records within the next
    24 hours.

Once you have updated your account records, your PayPal session will not
be interrupted and will continue as normal. Failure to update will result
in cancellation of service, Terms of Service (TOS) violations or future
    billing problems.

Please click here to update your billing records.

    Thank you for your time

    Best Regards
    Marry Kimmel,
    PayPal Billing Department Team

    My reply?

Gee...maybe that is because, although I ONLY used my PayPal for bill-pay
and eBay, you guys CLOSED my account because I own an adult website.
    Turds.

That sure sounds like a scam to be. PayPal doesn't terminate accounts, they lock them down.

Got that, too. It's a phishing scam. Mouseover the link and it's not paypal. Got pratically the same email last week from Citibank.

I get that e-mail about 50 times a week to e-mail addresses that aren't even registered with Paypal. It's a scam.

I emptied my paypal weeks ago. I keep it that way so they can hold absolutely $0.00 for me when they lock my account.

Yeah, that link that says "paypal.com" might actually go to an IP address. If you put your mouse over it, it should show the true address it goes to in the status bar at the bottom.

Otherwise, it may be paypa1 instead of paypal... in some fonts, the 1 and l look the same.

I picked up the phone and called them about this one a few weeks ago and they said if it didn't directly address you by name, then it is NOT from Paypal...... and to watch this kind of thing because they CAN use those forms to get any and all of your information, such as credit card info and such. What they told me to do was login to my account and send that exact email with headers in tact to them and they can then maybe do something about it.

They told me that had I filled that out, then I should change my Paypal password asap and if I put my cc info in there, I should also have those cards changed, because chances are they have them. SOME ask for the CC info and some don't on these emails.
