I had my cable go out for over a week during the winter.. the definition of my hell is going from 5 Megabit internet to a modem.

I'd vent on the cable company. I got 2 free months.

Yea it sucks, I told them I work fulltime from my home, and the net is my income... They are like you are not allowed to make money using standard cable... I'm like wtf I have cox business which is like 10 times higer in price but sucks@#$ argh I can bite nails right now im so freaking pissed... I have so much I have to do. Updates crap like that where dial up just wont cut it..

No, DSL is not better than Cable. I've had them both, Cable is definetly the way to go. And yah, bitch at that company like hell.. get compensated bigtime.

Tom it depends on what kinds of DSL you get. I've had cable and I SWITCHED to DSL and mine is faster than my cable was. The cable co was just way to unstable for me. Always going down and shit. I pay 31.95 a month for DSL because it's part of some package at my phone company.. Just shop around, and at MOST DSL companys, they have different speed options.

Thanks bro, That at least gives me a little hope. When I log out of AOHELL I'll go and make a few phone calls.

dollar for dollar cable is the best option... Ive had a couple of times my cable went down, but it was always back within a couple of hours... and doesnt happen frequently...

I used to have cable upstairs and DSL downstairs in the house. I chose to cancel the cable and keep the DSL. It was cheaper, faster and more reliable for me. DSL rules!

yep I did the same thing. Very happy with DSL.

Oh I might I can't remember my DSL going down. Knock on wood...
