Yeah actually they are hired by the US government, there's like 15000 mercenaries in there. Who do you think ensures the security of Paul Bremer? No it's not the army, it's mercenaries. They have many missions. Who was responsible for the torture of those prisoners? Another one of your "non-mercenaries" friends.

Why has anyone even vaguely to the right suddenly had a total brain fart and forgotten the outrage over the Blackwater soldier's deaths?
And why can't anyone with even a modicum of commonsense realise that enemy forces doing horrible things is out of our control whereas our own forces doing less horrible but still stupid things is and therefore is going to elicit justifiable outrage at an undermining of our moral authority.

            davethetruth:

Who cares if US military is torturing some Iraqis by walking them like dogs on leashes and getting them naked?

It doesn't seems that bad to me, it is war!
I do for a start. Anyone into torturing others has a trial waiting and some "real justice" due.

The other issue is the is not "just" about torture, but also a series of murders. The situation on them is "we are not declaring this possibility at this time". It was only three days ago the CIA admitted they were investigating one - now that list, suddenly has risen to three.

Of the incidents the military have investigated they claim one actual homicide - but as usual, that is bullshit.

How can *anyone* make any claims when a series of incidents, at least six (up to 2 months back), where no other parties were present, other than US forces and one "prisoner", and that each prisoner died and was confirmed by US military doctors that the cause of death was homicide. Either the quality of US military doctors is lower than anything ever seen in the medical field, or someone is lying yet again.

Fortunately the data is in third party hands and being investigated by more qualified people not answerable to the US or under control of the US.

If you feel this conduct is "acceptable" - tis time to experience some of it and see how ya like it. Read some backgrounds of those involved - they were the pathetic trash of a society that makes stupid comments like "It doesn't seems that bad to me, it is war!" Other were kids from about 20 who ain't got a clue about anything - hell knows how they "qualified" to become titles like "Private First Class" and all that crap - they could not be "Private Fourth Class".

This brings other forces in Iraq into question and gives the US absolutely no credibility in any area concerning human rights. Tho that has already gone - so what the hell.

They hung members of the Third Reich for shit like this - tis time for the US government to act, else others will.

People feel? Holy crap, you're on to something big here. Of course they do. Going a step beyond your elementary generalizations, there's a difference between those who think rationally and those who let their emotions get the better of them.

I never said what happened wasn't wrong. Once again, that's not really the issue. What seems to be lacking by the emotionally lead thinkers is some perspective on the matter. It's easy to confuse the emotionally handicapped person with the facts.

I really think now it wasn't to get the oil in phase one. It was to fuck up the world's oil supply so the supply would go down and large oil companies could jack up prices for several years.

You got to always follow the underlying money trail to get to the bottom of most everything in life.

                        Who's profiting from this war?

                        1. Big Oil

                        2. Big Contracting Companies

                        3. The Military Industrial Complex

Therein is where you will find the ones who are truly evil and profiting at the expense of people's lives and all this destruction.

Don't worry, they'll be crucified for this. The sad thing is that the ones who will go down for this are probably going to be lower ranking officers who were just following orders and get this shit pinned on them. Who knows for sure what will happen though, we'll all have to wait and see.

It seems like a few Iraqi resistance fighters who don't even have to obey the rules managed to treat there prisoner in a more decent way.

Hamill was shot in the arm and struck in the head with a rifle butt when his convoy was ambushed on April 9. He underwent surgery that cleaned away dead tissue after about a week in captivity, though it's unclear whether he was taken to a clinic or a doctor came to him, Jepsen told reporters. His bandages were changed daily and he got antibiotics.

His English-speaking captors initially "left him with some water and a couple packages of hahahahahahas," Jepsen said. "He did say he was fed regularly."

I hardly doubt the people who attacked it draw any distrinction between whom they attack, relief workers, truck drivers, contractors so it really doesn't matter, they didn't know it was food for soldiers when they attacked it - it could have been blankets for orphans for all they knew/cared.

Should I have the same sympathy for insurgents who are shot, injured in Iraq? the civilians killed when they lure confrontations in populated areas? absolutely I should, however your justification for murder is intolerable.

I doubt it too. Fact is, they saw armed men in uniforms and attacked them. If my country was under occupation I'd have done the same.

They attack so called "soft" targets, because of their inability to attack well armed military forces, would you also bomb a street packed with your own civilians, or the U.N compound?
Some of these attacks have an agenda beyond attacking the U.S, and some are not even planned by people in Iraq, I don't think anyone wants to remain in Iraq a minute longer that needed, however it needs to be stable, right now there would be a civil war, or Iraq would quickly fall to Iran, either would be more bloodshed than anyone wants.

Bomb a street packed with my own civilians? No and stuff like that is probably done by Al-Qaeda members, not by resistance fighters.

I'm not saying that the US should withdraw now, they can't, no matter who the president is. I'm just saying that it wasn't right to try and take over another country. Problem is, the longer the US stays in Iraq the worst it'll be for all Iraq neighbouring countries. People in the ME are increasingly seeing there governments as US puppets and some don't hesitate to try and oust them.

You comment is especially stupid since you have no fucking idea what the issues are. If you knew even a small part of the problem you would know that the majority of Quebecors don`t want seperation we just want to remain French.

But I`ll give into your argument. Yes Canadians hate each other. But Canadian hatred must still be far better than American Love. And after all we know all Americans just adore each other and stand loyal to their flag with un-ending support of their president and military.
