    Do you believe David Blaine is REAL?

    So how many of you have heard of the street magic man named David Blaine?

    Do you believe the shit he does is real? For example the levitation trick and his crazy card tricks.

    Obviouisly his meditation stunts like being frozen in the ice chamber and in the glass cage are real...but what about his magic tricks? Post your thoughts.

                          I am sooooooooo glad someone posted a thread about him. I ABSOLUTELY ADORE DAVID BLAINE! He is hot as hell, and I love magic to being with, so he just adds to it. I think his tricks are partially real..I mean, he has been practicing magic for many years now, so you gotta give him some credit for the slight of hand tricks, and card tricks..LEVITATION..thats a different story all together!

                              Naw it's fake, I was impressed at first too until some half cut magician in a bar did all his big street magic tricks right in front of our eyes. The levitation, cig through the quarter, insane card tricks, he did them all just as well as Blane. I don't know wtf is with his meditation shit but his street magic tricks are just that, tricks. He's entertaining though, I mean what adults were talking about magic before this guy came around.

                                          Listen, As a former hobbyst magician I can tell you most of his tricks can be bought at your local magic store. His stunts are a different sotry, I believe that has more to do wih endurance.

                                          As far the LEVETATION trick, it can be learned in a few hours. Very simple stuff. I've performed it many times and many people used to think I was actually levetating.

                                                                                  The reason he got so big wasnt cause his tricks were good, it was the way he did them.
                                                                                  Copperfield and the bunch use millions dollar illusions, but Blane went to the magic shop, bought a few trick decks of cards and card trick books, and you know the rest. That's were his brilliance lies.

                                                                                          Editing. They do the trick to get the reaction from the crowd, then cut to either a pre setup scene, or editing thru effects later.
                                                                                          I'll bet you any amount of money that you cna't get a straight shot of him doing the trick all the way thru, with people being able to look under his feet.

                                                                                                                  you have someone on the other side of the glass put the card on there while the camera is not looking at it....then when the camera pans over the card is there....i have seen people do that before...pretty simple, just requires precise planning

                                                                                                                                  I have a lot of DVDs that show a lot of special effects, doesn't make them magic.

                                                                                                                                  I've watched the one where they show a foot under him, it's fake. It's not what people are seeing on the street, it's studio effects added later.

                                                                                                                                                  Hrmm...that would make sense, except when Blaine does that trick, he asks the lady to mark the card with a magic marker.

                                                                                                                                                  And when it shows up on the other side of the hahahahahaha, its the SAME EXACT CARD with the same damn marking.

                                                                                                                                                  He also did one were he bent the card in a V shape and stuck the card in the middle of the deck. The camera didn't cut or anything, and when he snapped his fingers, the bent card in the middle of the deck appeared at the top of the dock.

                                                                                                                                                  Only one hand was touching the cards, and he was using that hand to hol dthe bottom of the deck. It happend so quickly. it's hard to think that is fake.
