So I'm out for a walk just now and I decide to walk to my nearest 7-11 for a candy bar. I figured the walk would cancel out the calories and I'd be ok.
So I get there and this 18 year old looking bum with taped shoes and dirty hands opens the door for me. I didn't ask him and I really didn't want to smell him as I walked in. Whatever ok, so I get my 100 grand bar and walk out. He notices I'm moving for the door and so he opens the door again for me to leave except this time he's got what looked about like 13 cents in his rotten little paw, shaking it, and was begging for money.
What the fuck?? He's COMPLETELY CAPABLE of physical labor yet he still begs. I don't understand.
When did bums become self-employed? He just woke up this afternoon and said, I'm gonna make myself a job. "Doorman at the 7-11" I think is his official title.
I've worked construction a few times in my life. If you show up on a job site and are willing to clean up after everyone, the GC will give you a job. Especially to an 18 year old willing to work.
