Has anyone ever been to the Burning Man?

I'd love to go but don't have any friends who are game. Most of the folks around here are more pub types.

I will be going by myself, most likely. The only people who said they'd go are the ones that never even show up at a party after swearing they'd be there so I am not even counting them. Going alone might turn out to be a great idea -- this way I'll be inclined to make even more friends.

i duno if it's something i'd want to goto every year or take a week off for , but it is something i would like to spend a 2-3 days at once just to see all the art and such.

like porn conventions - i hate going to anything like that for more than 3 nights. but if i can do 3 nights and then go home to my dog and comfy bed i'm happy.

Shit I think he married a couple there a year or so back (acted as a priest). His pics of the event are just amazing!

My friend wants to go and wants me to go, I dont know. I heard its like $300 per ticket too, I would rather use that money for InterNext or something.

Tickets get progressively expensive as the date of the event draws near, right now they are going for $200 per. The total cost is higher, of course. You'll need to get there and survive for a week plus get yourself some transportation in a shape of a junky bicycle. The way I see it, for me the cost of going there will be close to $700.

Comparing InterNext to Burning Man as an event of choice deserves a smack in the head though. You're comparing chewing bubble gum to an acid trip.

I was thinking about going last year but it didn't happen, and seriously thinking about going this year and I'm in a better position to do it. Hope to see you there man

Anyone have any ideas, I heard you are encouraged to participate, with as many industry folks that seem to be going, maybe we should organize something.

Yes, the Penis Priesthood, it's perfect. They don't allow advertising of any kind, so it has to all be fictional, no logos, no ads, etc.
