I was there from Feb 92 to late 96, roughly. I lived in Fairfield Bay, and the only places I'd go to party were the Junction 659 (what a fucking roadhouse that was), the "country club" in FFB, and the (don't laugh) VFW in Clinton. Wasn't much to look forward to around there!
There was a town about 45 miles south east, I think, that had a "nightclub". I remember being so stir crazy that I drove down there to see Molly Hatchet. Talk about a bunch of strung out heroin freaks..
I'd take weekends in Little Rock or Jacksonville just to get a break from the boredom!
I'm glad I liked fishing - used to go to the Little Red River down by Heber Springs and flyfish for trout. Beautiful place.
Hahaha! We were there at the same time! I worked in fairfield bay for a few days when I was in college! Hahahaha! Oh, I know all about the crappy as junction 659. God, what a crappy place! Remember all the dry counties? BLAW!!! My exboyfriends dad was always hanging out at the VFW so I went there from time to time, fucking shitty! God that sucked! What a small world!Comment
