Almost, it was made to ensure that hosting companies set up their servers according to spec., monitor MySQL databases (that often crash) and to make sure that clients that cant afford to do regular backups at least have their systems monitored at all times in case someone goes in hack their server and delete their databases (like in your case) - This system can catch things like that before they turn fatal to the client. Be it that they are on MPA3, X3, Riverstyx, Nats, ES or whatever. This will do the job.
