    Is prostitution legal in New Orleans?

    This occured during a drunken discussion last night. I have looked up the subject but have only found old refrences to Storyville located near the French Quarter.

    Any actual names or locations? Both male and female?

      I don't think so. I've seen them on Cops before busting people for prostitution in New Orleans.

                  It in fact WAS legal at one time, but the girls got infected with disease too much, so the government stepped in and started doing mandatory shots, the girls had to pay 5 bucks a shot, and guess what - the girls never did and disease spread to soldiers coming to town and New Orleans being a port diseased whores spread it all over.

                  So they made it illegal.

                  Do you seem to have a sense of history repeating itself with the recent HIV outbreak and how the government will try and get more involved?

                          No, it's not legal. But it's there anyway. It's not uncommon to run into something like that while walking around the French Quarter. With both sexes and sexual orientations.

                                  prostitution is legal in NV but it has to be so many miles outside of city limits and it has to be a regulated, licensed whore house...or ranch as they call them now. The girls are required to receive weekly testing and anyone who misses a test is fired and will have a hard time getting in at any other ranches. I know of two ranches by name, but I am sure there are more. The last remaining one near Las Vegas is called the Chicken Ranch.

                                  As for prostitution in New Orleans, I'm pretty sure it isn't, but I think the Red Light District still exists there.
