      One of my servers is listed in there due to a Joe Job a couple of years ago. Although I was completely innocent, the shit stuck instantly because the host had had a lot of spam complaints against them in the past.

              Looks like the host is doing funny things with unallocated IP blocks and ASNs too. Ho hum.

                          If you are in Spews, SBL, Blars or FIVETEN and your servers are sending mail to your customers/members... some of those people are NOT getting your mail.

                          Yahoo, AOL, MSN (Hotmail) and many other large ISP's use one or more of those lists.

                              I'm well aware of the consequences, that's why I've migrated nearly everything off that server.

                              The Joe Job was listed by spamcop but I managed to prove that I had nothing to do with it, so it was removed and marked "do not reinstate"

                              The thing I'm most pissed off about is that my name is now associated with spam. If you do a google groups search it pops up.

                                      it says the server that my sites are hosted on are blocked by 'PTR' and 'IPWHOIS' is this a problem??

                                          The first line (PTR) is correctable by you I think -- because your DNS server isn't setup correctly.. probably because your DNS server should have a valid reverse IP entry.



                                          The Declude site says: "IPWHOIS - Lists domains that have incorrect or otherwise bad information in their IP whois data. Note that this MAY have the same flaw as the BADWHOIS test and could list major portions of the Internet."


                                          Not sure who uses IPWHOIS to block. I woudln't think that is a very big one by anyone but really hardcore people.

                                              I have to send out a bunch of emails. What do most of you use to send out emails to customers? Lots of mine ended up in Yahoo bulk folder when I did it a while back.
