You have to admit that the dude was caught up in the whole hype when he joined the Army...Hell, I have absolutely no desire to be in the military but when all that 9/11 shit popped off, even I considered going down to the recruiter.
He felt that he would be serving his country by fighting but he didn't realize that he was serving his country by ENTERTAINING them....
Would Robin Williams (when he was younger) quit his lucrative comedy career to go fight? Hell no...He gives charity concerts to the troops to help their morale...
Helping lift someone's morale is VERY important...He should have stayed on that football field.Comment

Everyone talks about what he gave up. But the day it was reported, even Rush said that he has given up no more than any other brave soldier killed in combat. No more, no less.
We now realize because of Tillman that we throw around the word "hero" and "soldier" to much when reffering to sports. Amazingly, Tillman was a hero just like all the other real soldiers!Comment

I agree he is no different then any other soldier over there. They all are heros. But he was in the lime light as a ball player so it did get media attention.

Wrong. Pat Tillman left the NFL, and his brother left a minor league baseball career, to join the US Army. They went in together. But you are correct in that the brothers were serving in the same unit.
