Ive been telling people here for along time they never listen. I always laugh when people ask for the cheapest host, or settles for shit just cause they havnt fucked up lately.

Yeah I run a host. But I keep it a secret here mostly cause I dont need the headache of idiot customers. Nicely said man!

One man operations are not always bad...
sometimes the owner is really on top of things, can offer great support and propably cares more about the customer than the big companies...
but these are probably rare though.. :-/

Not faulting them for that at all. I run a small host with huge bandwidth. But since we don't take sites under 5mbitp sec we dont need 1000 employees. Im just talking about these cheese hosts on here fighting over $5 host packages and selling the same gig to five customers for 20cents...

I like the templates they use, nice designs for a template..

They also have toll free numbers so someone must be there...

No cooperations or BBB status that I can see...

Always curios about other companies, especially when they offer ridiculous prices..

there MRTG shows about 8 MPS which is about 20 of the basic plans they offer.. That's kind of strange...

I realize that $20 is cheap for 300 gigs but is not an unreasonably low amount. Any company with decent commitment levels from (good) providers can buy bandwidth at $40-$45/mbit. Your average customer uses less than half of their plan so this would work out to a marginal profit over-all. This business model would be like Rackshack/ev1servers -- acquire thousands of customers and make small margins off huge volume.

Probably not the most practical business model for a one or two man operation that doesn't have marketing dollars to acquire customers but still doable for some..

I own TheXXXHost along with Chris and Mike, Not a 1 man operation. I dont know much about VibeHosting myself but they seem like a normal company.

There's no Mickal working at Thexxxhost. Yeah he's 16 or so, I used to own Thexxxhost, he ran it as a co-branded reseller solution. The domain was sold to the current management team a long time ago, along with the server at Atrivo which I paid for in full btw (I'm sure you knew this).

Atrivo (same kind of one man colo operation with hired techs) got a bit cheaper and better in bandwidth since Emil bought Hostany, I believe if you're fast you might still be able to nail one of those 500GB 2.0's with him, I wish him all the best til he gets his new hardware and site up.

Anyway you got to watch out these days if you don't need whole servers cause there are so many resellers who get their stuff from other people who don't know shit about linux or securing servers or even manage them correctly instead of putting so much clients on the server that it'll have a massive slowdown or crash regulary.

Always remember,too cheap can't be good,stay away from all those webhostingtalk.com kids,they are not the right solution for serious business.And mostly don't even have a clue how to handle administration panels

Their "companies" will be gone in 1 or 2 months when they realise that 10GB space per customer and 100GB bandwidh for 9,95$ was not a good idea,because most use what they pay for.

There's no Mickal working at Thexxxhost. Yeah he's 16 or so, I used to own Thexxxhost, he ran it as a co-branded reseller solution. The domain was sold to the current management team a long time ago, along with the server at Atrivo which I paid for in full btw (I'm sure you knew this).

Atrivo (same kind of one man colo operation with hired techs) got a bit cheaper and better in bandwidth since Emil bought Hostany, I believe if you're fast you might still be able to nail one of those 500GB 2.0's with him, I wish him all the best til he gets his new hardware and site up.

Because your a skandelous bastard and broke as fuck. As for brightservers.. its ran by an 18 yr old and someone else now.. I dont need to be apart of these chop shops.. Your reseller ass keydet wont servive if people know your source.. Same goes for thexxxhost and adultxspace and brightservers..

I had the same problem from Emil personally.

I asked him to setup an FTP account for me so I could ftp into an affiliates domain and setup a script.
I am by NO means a sys admin let alone could I EVER do anything on a *nix box aside from pico.

Bottom line is he told me the commands (well half of them) to do it myself. When it didn't work (like I told him it would) he stopped replying to me and completely ignored me when I said "See, instead of wasting an hour trying to be smart, you could have had me off your back in 5 minutes if you'd done it yourself."

Lazy admin as far as I am concerned.

I know shit about admin and I told him this and he still tried to make me do it all.
