The use of "not for nothing" has been building over the last couple of months.
Every 6 months to a year there is a new phrase that sweeps across the country then fades. This is just the next newest annoying phrase.
Last year people really started using "Begs the question" all the time. In addition to being annoying, it was always used incorrectly.
