Why wouldn't the ticket system be sufficient for registering your concerns? I would think that any company touting it's support would make sure it's ticket system works. As a matter of fact I would think it's in their best interest to make sure a ticket system is in place to properly triage support requests. Bitching at this guy for not picking up a phone is crap in my opinion.
With that said I've hosted with Webair in the past and I know their ticket system works. Their support staff is friendly and respond quickly. I unfortuantely had to move because of an issue that wasn't resolved to my satisfaction but I suppose it should be expected with a virtual hosting account.
I think the only solution is to go to a forum that's dedicated to hosting and not sig whores and do some research.
It's been my experience that dedicated accounts will get far better support than virtual so if you're looking for virtual hosting I would probably listen to the small timers more than the big timers.
