Just had this conversation with my wife this weekend...
Life in prison is DEFINITELY gonna be better than death. This life is all you get man, make the most out of every second, no matter what your current frame of reference may tell you.
Imagine all the working out, sleeping, reading, food, bullshit conversation, cigarettes, ass kicking, good old fashioned labor, etc. you get in prison... Not a bad gig at all.

I had a business venture with Steve Banerjee founder and owner of Chippendales. Steve was an amazing businessman but had a very hot temper. One of his managers left the company and decided to open a Chippendales knockoff in NYC and was recruiting Steve's dancers to work for him instead.
Steve went ballistic and hired a contract hit to take the guy out which was done. The shooter was foreign and Steve figured it'd be untraceable back to him.
The LAPD detectives were able to piece together the money trail and had enough evidence to charge Steve with the contract murder. He was looking at spending the rest of his life in prison.
He decided to go the suicide route and hung himself in his jail cell.
