    New Orleans in 5 days, staying for a week

    Since I'm a canuck, I need to exchange some of my Canadian money for US Currency - then I reolized I was going to New Orleans, so I exchanged it for New Orlean currency:

      Ah you're not gonna get much for those things...

      Besides, most girls down there will do more for a shot or a hotel room than a plastic bead.

              Agreed.... Us local gals aren't very likely to do anything for beads. Especially since Mardi Gras has already passed.

              But maybe you'll catch a few tourists. *smiles*

              Just make sure when you're down here not to let anyone walk up to you while you're walking around the French Quarter to clean your shoes or bet you they know the answer to stupid questions. Those guys prey on tourists down here.

                  The beads are for shits and giggles - me and the guys are heading down for a tech conference, but we're bringing the photo gear too just incase we find some girls up for a party at the marriott

                      how much are you willing to pay for those beads? i have about 225 lbs of beads just laying around over here.. im in baton rouge about 50 minutes away.. i go to new orleans almost every weekend, and live there for 2 weeks straight during mardi gras.. its a great place

                          You'll probably find some girls around there that are up for a party.

                          You should go check out the Coyote Ugly while you're down too. You could probably get some pretty cool pictures from there.

                          I'm not real sure if they're still there because I don't listen to the radio much anymore, but there use to be a local radio station crew there at night interviewing people that went there. So maybe you'll end up on the radio too if they're still doing that.

                                  No doubt we'll find people looking to party. We get there Saturday - the trade show only runs Monday -> Wednesday, we don't leave till Friday. We've got about 300sq feet worth of space at the trade show we have to man from 8am-5pm, but after that we'll be checkin out the night life and hitting/throwing parties.

                                  I'll be on the look out for a radio crew

If you turn down the wrong street or even walk too far down Bourbon(past all the gay bars) you could find yourself in trouble.

                                                                                  Best to stay on the highly populated end of Bourbon street and the tourist friendly areas.

                                                                                  You should be fine walking the way I told you to go to Coyote Ugly.

                                                                                  Have a great time and take lots of pictures for us!

                                                                                                                      We dished out over 10k just on floor space at the trade show - I don't think i'll skip out going because "the state is a shithole". I think it's going to be a blast to party it up, and great for business at the trade show.

LOL Geez... I'm so use to just walking it I guess when I was picturing it in my mind I forgot to add that part because it's just so natural for me to know to turn there. Sorry about that Hon.

                                                                                                                              Next time I give directions, I'll have to type a little slower and re-read what I typed out a little slower too.

                                                                                                                              It's good that you're not afraid of anything happening, but I read so many stories of tourists turning down the wrong street and getting shot.... Just don't want that to be you, you know?

                                                                                                                              It's not all like that though. There are just streets that are safe and streets that aren't. Unfortunately, you only know which streets are which if you live here...

                                                                                                                                      I've heard all that before - I've also been told to ensure my watch doesn't show, and to tuck my gold chains into my shirt and make sure they don't show. I'm not overly concerned. We'll be at a huge trade show during the day, and staying in rental cars/taxis/bars/restaurants the rest of the time.

                                                                                                                                      Hopefully have a photo shoot or two at the Marriott, we shall see.
