How do you know who is basing their opinion on fact and who isn't? Where are the facts to support that opinion?
Anyway, since when were facts a prerequisite to having an opinion? Later this year millions of americans, blissfully unaware of almost everything which goes on in their country, will vote: a powerful expression of opinion. Electors in other countries are no different. Should everyone take a test before being allowed to vote?
For twenty years I wrote for a newspaper called "Free Palestine". I also married an Israeli and lived there for eight years. I have done a lot of research and taken part in many debates and discussions. I have interviewed both Israeli and Arab politicians and I have friends on both sides. But my opinion is still just an opinion and there are plenty of people with far more facts at their disposal than I have, who still cannot agree as to what those facts mean.Comment

That is just crazy. I wasn't in Germany for World War 2 and I didn't see the concentration camps but I can read books and watch d.o.c.u.m.e.n.t.a.r.i.e.s by people who have studied that time and that place and who have actually been there and I could get a pretty good understanding of what happened over there. You can do that with a lot of things, The Revolutionary War, World War 1, traveling into space etc.......
