So here's one from last week....been testing some lighting trying to get rid of shadows on white( I'm prepping for some graphics for a PrivateIvy version 2.0 )

It would help those shadows if you put some distance between you and the background and lit the background seperately

Seriously though....thanks for the advice...haven't thought about the distance with backdrop...have to try that. Used two cheapo hotlights about 6-8 feet away, one in front of me at eye level and one to my right, mid level. So how can I light the background separately? Inquiring minds want to know...I'm also shooting 3 of the models in my network and really like doing white for site graphics...but the shadows mess that all up !!! LOL

Two cheapo hotlights? Well, that's part of your problem right there. If your going to try to produce quality photography, you should upgrade and get some photographic lights to work with. Seriously!!!

From the looks of the shadows you are not "softening" those lights in any way. The hard-edged shadows tell the story. Although one of the shadows appears to be softer than the other one?

The idea situation is to move the model out from the background 6, 8 or 10 feet. Shoot two lights onto the background to wash out any shadows. Not sure if you know how to use a light meter but that would be a big plus if your trying to produce good consistant photography.
