      Does it understand English?

Not being a smartass for a change, the reason I'm asking is because a friend of mind did something very similar. He was in a foreign country and rescued a dog but it didn't understand any commands. It was like training a new pup and it drove him crazy!

Kudos to your bud for giving it a second chance though!

Yes, it has a sad kind of weird look in its eyes, after many days of bad news, at least it brings a little smile
