Wether or not people make money with mainstream site ? I guess it's pretty obvious that they do. What do people sell ? Anything - easiest way to find out is Yahoo.com
How do they make money ? Well, if you see adsence ads or banners on it - thats how they do it.
How much money they make doing it ? Not many people will share that info.
