you know? I don't think I have ever called a guy handsome to his face. It is the kind of thing I would say about a younger cousin or something in a cheesey way. Though, I don't tend to tell guys I like that they are cute either...hot or sexy are my terms of choice I guess.

It is used when women want to provide a compliment without risking any sort of expression of romantic or sexual interest.

The last time I heard a woman use this word; she was paying an old man a compliment (she was in her 30's).

My guess is that you are a lot older than they were and that she didn?t want you to read anything into her compliment, unless . . . those "ladies" were actually "trannies," then it means they would definitely have sex with you (but not a relationship).

Men don?t truly understand the subtleties in the way women use such compliments.

Consequently, trannies can be exposed (if they weren?t obvious to begin with).
