Serious Question for you guys...((A Business Question))

Do you use an affilate program because of their credibility. As in been in business for a few years, always paid on time, no bounced checks. Great PR on them. Great customer service.

    Or...

If a new company started out and offered more money like 100 bucks for a trial signup. Would you signup with that company even if they are new.

I know in our case, I know my webmasters trust us/CyberAge and they know we have been paying out over 1,000,000.00 a month, and we have been for the last 8 years.

But just getting your thoughts on this, I would find it interested.

So, a new company you haven't heard of paying 100.00 or stick with your Credibility Company but on a way lower pay scale, like 35?

I know any company paying $100 per signup is full of shit, and shaves harder than a skinhead at a rally. I'll take honesty over anything.

I stick with programs that pay on time and treats me well. I would rather get a 20 pps and can see that the conversion ratio stays the same. I have tried a few programs that offer the higher payouts and have found the conversions to be all over the place... with traffic that I know converts.

Give me a program that will work with me to make them money and I'm there

No matter what business I'm doing I usually end up moving towards the well-established business. This is especially true with my deals with adult stuff thus far. However, you can't discredit a newer program that has promise. If people wouldn't have given my company a chance when I first started I wouldn't be where I'm at today.

So, I guess it's definitely a risky call, but I personally lean towards established companies that have a good reputation, have a quality product, their staff are helpful, down to earth, and lastly and maybe most importantly I like to see a company with people that have a passion for what they do. My .02, -g

everybody has to start one day

But $100 for a trial signup sounds a bit like scam. If I don#t even know the ppl running it I'd be carefull and send only some traffic. no big promo like buying spots for them

the higher the payout = the higher they shave to balance that payout..

the more money spent on flashy site and cars = the greater the shave

i may be wrong... true flashy stuff means success, but sometimes you wonder where all your 'sign ups' go..

we all know besides the top five or ten webmasters.. everyone else gets shaved...

had a nice talk with a friend this week, and he told me to only try a program that someone i know recommends or if they know you... can't trust it any other way...

i would have to say, i would go with which ever someone i know recommends and/or someone i know or have spoken to (preferably in person) from that specific program.

$100 payouts is a one time a year promotion you run to bring people in on your program and it can be used as a an insentive for existing affiliates....think of it as a an annual bonus for appreciation...

SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

i'll take a REAL 20/signup over a 30+/signup shave job anyday. if u think u are getting paid more than 30+/signup HONESTLY, ALL THE TIME u r simply fucking YOURSELF. it doesn't make numerical sense let alone will the conversion ratios you'll experience (especially when u know your traffic like i know my shit). :2cents

I usually try out an affiliate program based on their niches and how they perform on my own 100K hits traffic tests.
