To her credit, and I'm not a fan of anything she does, the sound was fucked up for all of the performers. Their mics were not properly hooked up, levels were off, etc. The whole half time show sucked ass because of engineering, not just because Ashlee Simpson is a douche bag.

Well, don't confuse the goal of making music with the goal of making money. Unfortunately, Ashlee Simpson sells. I don't think the execs give a shit if the sounds on a cd are driven by talent or made by a machine as long as it lines their pockets.
