YOU ROCK...the guy at the Secretary of State hassled me today, made me pay $75 to register my boat trailer for one of the new stupid permanent plates they now make us use.
the cop that pulled me over for no reason, only to end up asking for my phone number, was a hassle.

I've asked myself why it's fun.. it's not because I learn anything, or even that there are more posters here than almost anywhere else on the net.. Well this is a tough one.
I happen to treat women with a lot of respect and I'm not the type to be blatantly crude, but a lot of the younger guys here are sometimes that way to the GFY girls. I don't think its with true malicious intent, but more just for the drama of the moment trying to be cool and getting attention by being an asshole.
I think the women here are extremely tough skinned. Sometimes it amazes me how well they can turn the tables on someone who attacks them verbally.
I think you need to clearly define hassle. More guys hassle other guys here than women, so why should it only be the women who are protected? In a way that's kind of like a putdown to the women by applying it just to them as if they aren't tough enough to kick butt back themselves. Which again, I think most all are quite good at standing up for themselves.

This is GFY. Take it or leave it. for the most part, it's the crude, nasty remarks made to incite a reaction that gets people so upset, male or female. The ignore feature works well for that.
As KRL said, the golden rule applies here. "Do unto others as you would have done unto you" makes a great deal of sense.
But the rude comments, the crass insults, and pathetic debasement of girls in a contest or who make their living by being the content that we all try so hard to sell, that's what Lens seems to be cracking down on, and I don't blame him. Thanks a million Lens.

When I signed up for the Miss GFY contest I had a couple of dudes be really really mean to me and hurt my feelings so bad .. needless to say.. I dropped out of the contest and I swore to never come back.

Sad to say, but there are those who really don't care one way or another, and those are the few that are going to find themselves in Bannville.
I just happened to see KRL posting the phrase, but I agree, there are many others who have voiced the same feeling. I'm glad that Lens is protecting the contestants, but at the same time, I feel that GFY is indeed GFY. People are going to be mean, rude, and downright nasty about some things; that's just part of this board's appeal. But when it comes down to it, if you can talk the talk, you'd better be able to walk the walk or you might as well call it a day now.
Like I said earlier, I think what Lensman is looking for are the people who go out of their way to be caustic toward the Miss GFY contenders. I hope like hell he gets rid of the rabble, because this stands to be a good contest.
