The way it usually works is the artist gets an advance that needs to be repayed to the label. He may have gotten a 50k or 500k advance to make the album.. I'll bet you anything he spent it all on record production and promotion .. which is usually the case.Originally posted by Mikel

Everytime you see him on a talk show performing with those dancers you can bet it's probably paid for by the label . but he has to pay them back. Poor guy is gonna be broke and in debt in a year unless his album sells like mad and/or he goes on tour and actually does well .. which is highly unlikely because I'm sure in 2 months people will be sick of him.
