Expect big terrorist strikes before/during US elections

I think that will bring the biggest bang for Osama's buck, seems to have influenced the Spanish elections, why not duplicate what works eh?

I post on GFY so that when people ask me what I do,
I can tell them that I work with the mentally retarded.

Scariest part of the article: "In some ways, it seems like it would be too good to pass up for them,'' Rice said.

        Government involvement? I think so.

best move for terrorists would be to leave us alone, till a democrat is in the white house. like next january. by then all of the bushiness should start wearing down, and we wont go running into countries for nothing.

Actually I thought of this, then I looked it up because GFY crew always needs a link, I'm tired of being accused of being a liberal freak by some, then accused of being conservative by others, can't I just point out what seems to me to be logical strategy without being accused of belonging to some 'club'. I don't.

Yeah there have been a LOT of terrorist bombings in the US since 2001 for sure.

Give me a break. All these "sleeper cells" I have a feeling they don't exist

cooter: so where have they been for the last 3 years then?

I really doubt they like how the US is killing all their relatives.

Just because someone saves the 'big one' for the finale doesn't mean they're not planning it.. don't kid yourself, this next election will be one of the most pivotal points in world history

Al Queda has already released a statement saying they want Bush elected in November. It's not unthinkable that they would try to scare people into voting for Bush.

I don't think that he can make again something like 11 sep or the last terrorist attacks in Spain

If they (who they is another debate for another day) tried the same thing here, as others have pointed out, it would very likely make Bush more popular immediately afterwards.

So it's more likely that we'll see continued "problems" in Iraq and abroad - the more the war goes "wrong", the worse it is for Bush come election time.

However, if they are planning to do large-scale attacks, expect them sooner than later...say before June-30th.

                            6-11 maybe?

Symbolic for one...ok, not very, but certainly would fit into the 9-11, 3-11 pattern.

More importantly, that leaves a nearly 5 month gap for elections to be influenced...here's the scenerio...after a terror attack, Bush's approval ratings will likely go up sharply, but quickly drop off again, and very likely drop below current levels by November...

However, since Bush and Kerry are basically two in the same quite really so I don't see that as much motivation though.

In short what they'd gain from such an attack is not so clear...completely turning America into a "police state" ... in that regard, one more big attack and that's pretty much assured

If you aren't doing anything illegal, then you should embrace a police state, not fear it.
