Well, it isn't done yet but it hasn't caught on in key countries well like Germany, the UK, South Korea...........hasn't been released in Japan yet, but not much expected there either as their Christian population is almost non-existent. Presently, "The Passion" sits at around 26, and may not even crack the Top 20 of all time........its done well mainly in the US due to strong religious support.

Now we are getting warmer with some guesses........although the biggest money making Matrix movie was NOT the original, to the surprise of many.........it was Reloaded, which sits at 15th with $738.6 Million............the first one is ranked 40th, with $460.4 Million

Well, besides the Titanic guess, this is the big jackpot series......

All 3 movies place in the Top 10 of all time internationally, including Return of the King, which is already Number 2 and still moving some..........but will never catch Titanic......nothing may in our lifetime...........but LOTR is by far the most successful trilogy ever.........this is probably due to the universal appeal of the type of fantasy movies they are, the popularity of the books, being the second most read books other than the Bible, and its appeal to women as well as men............the Star Wars and Godfather fan base is almost exclusivley or heavily weighted towards men, while LOTR is almost equally divided amongst the sexes. Its also Number One on Home Video/DVD of all time so its making them a pile of bling bling...........

Lord of the Rings? Previously mentioned.............that series when its over will make almost $3 Billion for New Line, as they gambled their future on this franchise and won big big time......if the first one had flopped, we'd be talking Chapter 11 for them

More appeal internationally than say "Star Wars" as it does better in key countries like Japan, the UK, and Germany..........as a matter of fact, the first two Potter movies are Japan's highest grossers ever, at around $160 Million apiece...........they love their movies in Japan.
