I am desperate for a new host. The experience of changing over is always traumatic. I hate to attempt it again; my members have put up with enough. But the situation is unbearable.
My site is continually hacked. Valid usernames are captured and somehow hackers get to the password file and add their own usernames. The brute force attacks and password dictionaries are constant. When the server can't handle the load, my host shuts down MY site. They are puzzled by the problem. This has been the case for over a year.
I installed Pennywize, it has made the situation worse -- though I know that sounds crazy.
Furthermore, my hosting guys tell me not to call them! Do not host with Nectartech/SurrealHost. Beware!
Who can I go to for like $75 or $100 a month who will actually know how to secure the site?
