this was going on 5+ years ago except it wasnt always condoms, and fact is most performers wont use them. Many companioes sponsor events and studios...Doc Johnson sponsors things and gives people lube all the time.
Trojan and other companies want NOTHING to do with the porn industry ;)
and the ones that dont mind, wont bother because giving condoms to talent is no different than when they go into AIM or Planned Parenthood and can get handfuls of FREE CONDOMS, why dont they?
Planned Parenthood givs free condoms everyday, any talent can get their own for free, they CHOOSE NOT TO, and THAT is the problem.
Self regulation, without it, there is no responsibility.

Probably most major brands might be afraid of the association for their primary lines, but I would think one of them could do sort of the equivilent of a sublabel and make a condom that was packaged and branded particularly for this market segment. We've gotten celeb type condoms in for product placement in the past.Comment

I have been on sets where there are bowls of sponsored condoms, this is not some NEW IDEA. IN fact, companies I have seen do this for FREE WITHOUT SPONSORS and simply lay out BIG SALAD BOWLS of condoms, the talent simply dont bother or half do and no matter what still left with hundreds of condoms for the next shoot.
ive seen it done for gang bangs, anal shoots, you name it. the studios foot the bill and most of the time it is a waste of money because the condoms make it harder for most guys to keep their dick hard....

exactly...over here just about every radio station has condoms with their name on the wrapper. It is just like record companies owning 'indie' labels that we aren't suppose to know is really the same company.Comment

the only way companies will get talent to wear condoms is if the government forces them to. some ask for condoms thoughm, hurray for them. but not alldo.
Let me ask you, how many porn shoots have you been on? Ever watch a guy struggle with getting it hard? How about ever see a guy STARt with a condom and go bareback because condom made the shoot suck? How about have you ever seen a guy shoot his dick with erection fluid and try to wear a condom? just doesnt work honey, it just doesnt.

I would also like to add.
a performer can call for condoms ANYTIME they want. NO ONE is making anyone work without condoms.
In fact, judging by the big names here who DO SUPPORT CONDOM USe, such as VIVid, and they run a HUGE operation out of the valley.... id say LA supports the use of condomds more than anywhere else in the US.
Companies like VCA and Vivid have been doing condom only, especially condom only anal for 10 years now.
LA is doing what it can, we also have AIM and clinics where as some places DO NOT.
We have been facing this problem for more than 1 decade here in the porn valley.

im not arguing either, simply stating this has been done. In fact, some of the earliest stuff I worked on upon arriving here was endorsed by products and the condoms and lube were free to everyone.
your idea about condom sponsors and the govt getting involved are two different entities.
This little gimmick is not the end all to any problems other than making it more difficult to get talent hahah
we have been dealing with this issue for a very long time, its just now that some of you actually sit up and take notice.
i was reading about the AIDs scare in the industry of the early 90s before I moved out here, and have NEVER forgotten it.
