I might tell one person that's really close to me. Don't think I'd tell my family though, wouldn't want them to worry.

With the cocktails they have out now, you can be HIV+ for a long time and still not get aids.

I'd tell everyone, probably. No use in hiding in what would probably become obvious (with KS n shit).

HIV doesn't necessarily mean your life is instantly over though, just look at this guy: http://www.geekslut.org and especially his pictures.

tell the people that are close to you, and the people that may be at risk around you. definitely tell lovers.

I would tell Lensman. It wouldn't be fair not to tell him since we are lovers

For most people within the United States at least as well as Europe it's something most of them should be ashamed of. In civilized nations where there is HIV education and information it's mostly a disease of irresponsibility that is largely easily avoidable.

For people who get it through blood transplants and methods of which it's not their own fault they are a minority of the cases. In civilized nations it's still an overwhelmingly gay disease passed through unprotected anal sex, that doesn't mean straight people can't get it because they can.

However most people in civilized nations get HIV of their own fault by living irresponsibly. In places like Africa where the disease is exploding it's an education issue because there isn't much good information on the disease.

So if you're from a civilized country where there is education and information about HIV/AIDS you likely caught the disease out of your own irresponsible actions and should be ashamed of yourself if anything.

i hope if anything this incident forces this industry to MAKE condom use sexy.

Sorry but that's the truth, that's not to say I wish it on anyone but we all have to live with the consequences of our own actions. I personally never want anyone to feel sorry for me, nor do I feel sorry for myself for things I brought on myself.
