While this is a sad situation for everyone involved, I'll refer to Jenna's comments about the fact that the adult film industry has much lower overall instances of HIV than the general population. Given that there's alot more sex going on in the adult film industry than in the general population it's more of a credit to the industry than a detriment.
Now the fact that someone got careless and did some things they shouldn't have, TTBoy and Darren James in Brazil being the one that comes to my mind at the moment, is not an indication of the entire industry being stupid, just that someone has suffered a bad judgement call that can never be erased.

The history and origin of AIDS is a scandal in itself. Even when the scientists who developed it for germ warfare got on the air and confessed WITH sworn affidavits you didn't hear about it in the mainstream news ( www.tetrahedron.org ).
AIDS is the product of an accident turned into a weapon that some assholes turned onto the specific populations hoping to eradicate them but it backfired.
Yet this story of this kid is one of who knows how many people who are young and infected. Like the 'War on Cancer' we're tossing billions at a cure and ignoring cures because the big pharmaceutical companies are making money hand over fist.
The bottom line is we need to be more responsible as a whole. Stop finger pointing at ghosts and bring those responsible for unleashing this plague up to justice and focus on the proven methods of curing the disease.

But I also know people that quit high school at 16 and are very successful today without an education, they were simply more mature at that age and could handle their lives.

The legal age should be 21 across the board to be considered an adult. This should include fighting for your country, drinking alcohol, smoking, having sex for money, and gambling. When it's 18 for one right and 21 for another, it makes us feel more grown up than we actually are at 18.
