    Magic Johnson and his HIV

    It has been now close to like 12 yrs since he got it i believe. Anybody know the status of his condition?

    We havent really heard anything in the past few yrs regarding him and his conditon.

                                                                  He's also healthier in terms of fitness and in better physical shape than most people who don't have aids, I'm sure that helps a lot. Also has the money to hire the best trainers, nutritionists and doctors. And he probably has lower stress (just a guess) than people who are sick and have to worry if they can afford to pay their medical bills, rent etc. Money does make everything a bit easier.

                                                                          There are folks that are "a-sympomatic" which means they are infected with the hiv virus but never develop ANY illness..let alone A.I.D.s Scientists don't know why..but suspect it's some sort of mutant gene they have. But they CAN infect others!

                                                                          In Magic's case, his hiv "viral load" is below 50 copies (the lowest level the best microscope can currently "read") per milliliter of blood. So, the cocktail he is on is working for him and keeping him healthy. He still has the virus..they just can't find it in his blood (it hides in the lymph nodes, brain, testicles, etc). But there are nasty side effects from those "cocktails" folks are on. Sometimes almost worse than the virus itself.

                                                                                      IF you could get ALL new blood in your system..it still does not get rid of the virus as it lives in MANY different parts of your body outside of the blood stream.
