    WTF? - Trillian

    I have trillian and am using icq and msn on it.

    When I talk to some people they have troubles writing back (icq) they get some kinda error....

    WTF?

    The error is

    "***Error while sending IM: Not supported by Client"

      they are probably updating the protocol on the server, which means trillian may need to update their software to match.

      icq is now owned by aol, & aol's "AIM" is notorious for cutting the connection between itself & other client software by slight protocol changes. Their little way of owning the market.

      Or your/their computer might just be acting funny tonight

              Aol/ICQ does it so that when your finally fed up of the free programs, the free programs will lose their user base, leaving aol/icq as the premier services...........& of course once that happens they have market control, once they have market control they can start charging people for using their IM service, or atleast have all BILLION people using the internet 20 years from now looking at their advertisements.

              So in short.........20 years from now, e-mail all but gone (except for official purposes, much like a fax)

                  Aol/AIM/ICQ's servers work on the same network

                  a year ago, you could login to a icq UIN via Aol Instant Messanger.

                  ICQ, AIM, AOL, will all interface with each other 100% within a year/ possibly 2.

                  When internet 2 enters the picture, (super high bandwidth) your internet usage will be billed just like your power is now. You will have a meter that will be read.
