    do you use your ssn?

when you sign up with a sponsor that needs a ssn/tax id, do you incorporate or use you ssn?

if you do use your ssn, will that follow you at all, like, do you think if you wanted to get a different job down the road that they could find out? am i paranoid?

I used my SSN until I incorporated but it should be used only for tax purposes. I'm not sure why so many sponsors require it since very few actually send out 1099's. Most of the major processors don't report sponsor earnings to the IRS so why should they report the affiliates to the IRS?

Yah, I only get 1099'd by 3 or 4 sponsors, the rest I have to add up the checks myself and report it.

EIN is the tax id number you get when you incorporate
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

That was ture until last year, but because of changes in laws or something else, I've noticed significantly more sponsors using 1099s

Interesting.. i've only come across 2 or 3 of my sponsors that send out 1099's. I guess i'll wait and see what this year holds.

1099's are only for ssn, if you are incorporated although you get 1099 it means nothing to my understanding

If you make a living at this and are still not incorporated - you're asking for trouble in one way or another.
