    Photoshop/screen cap question

I've always been able to hit the prt scrn/sys rq button and then open up photoshop and paste it there but today for some reason it's live. Not sure how to explain this but if the video clip that I want a print from is still running and I paste to photoshop it's still running on photoshop too! If I hit stop on the video and then do print screen the area where the video is in the print is off center, I can move it around but it holds still while everything else is moving. Get what I'm saying? Did I hit a button? hahah I've never seen this before.
