As for the "fraggings" in Vietnam...all conflicts have had their "fraggings" but on very low levels. The "fraggings" in Vietnam began to be prominent when large numbers of people at home began to take to the streets expressing their disapproval of the conflict and the draw down of forces in the theater began. Discipline became a problem as no one wanted to be the last to die in an unpopular war...so those Officers and NCO's that wanted to actually engage the enemy..became the enemy to some of our troops. I was just wondering because my ex was in there for 6-7 yrs (it was a felony) but whenever I ask him if it ever really happened ( if not to him, if he ever heard of it happening to anyone in there) he would always say "no" and that jail rape happened only in the movies. I researched on the net and a lot of sites like Stop Prison Rape claim that it does happen, so I don't know why my ex is so insistant that it doesn't, and that it's all just jokes and bullshit. Most of it could be myth, but there must be some truth to it since there's so much "help groups" about it on the net.
I wonder if it is rampant. He claims that it's all separated by race in there, and that him and his friends had the big Samoan guys looking after them so no one would mess with them? Perhaps it was so traumatizing that he repressed it and doesn't want to talk about it?
I'm getting scared because we got back together after he got out of jail. I hope nothing happened to him and that he doesn't have any diseases or anything and passed it to me?
