    So why is it accepted that dating sites shave?

    "We don't pay for foreign traffic"

    Ok lets see what happens.

    Guy from Holland signs up for a free membership at datingsite X. Affiliate does not get credit because it's a foreigner. (although you can bet on it that datingsite X WILL use the email to spam....) So the Dutch guy browses around on the site and sees a hot chick. The Dutch guy pulls his cc and pays for a membership. You dont see a penny. So now datingsite X has a free email and got paid without having to share.

    A few weeks ago a dating site told me im sending quite some foreign traffic and i wont get credit for that. At that point i had no clue they simply let the guys in and throw a huge "click here to pay for a full membership" text in their face.

    I honestly think i lost a few 1000's in payouts this way.

    This is simply shaving. I can't find another term for it. I think its insane. Oh wait, maybe stealing is another good term to use.

In fact, it's a point of pride for us that we can monetize even the lowest quality foreign traffic -- from places like India, Brazil and Eastern Europe. Anyone who needs a home for their "undesirable" foreign dating traffic, talk to me.

                                                                      Dude... most programs don't pay on foreign hits, not just dating programs and they usually say it clearly enough in their terms and conditions.

                                                                      If it says so in the terms and you continue to send foreign traffic, you're not getting shaved. You're just not filtering properly.

                                                                              You are complaining about a non issue. It is not illegal if they tell you. It is such a small percent of traffic that has your undies in a bunch I would not worry about it. Do they pay you well for your traffic. That is the question you need to answer.

                                                                                      Btw, get a free membership at any dating site and you will notice they list tons of countries to search for singles, basically any country. Now why the fuck would they do that if they dont want foreign traffic?

                                                                                      Looks like they really like foreign traffic. They seem to spend time and energy on it. I really wonder why if its too "worthless" to pay for it.

                                                                                                                  I'm sure, being a good webmaster and having at least half a brain, that you read the terms and conditions in their entirety before signing up and checking the box agreeing to the terms, right?

                                                                                                                  They don't have to give you a reason. If they say they won't pay on foreign traffic and you continue to send foreign traffic, it's your problem, not theirs. It's therefore your responsibility to filter it, not theirs.

                                                                                                                              Personally, I send a shit load of traffic to AAC. They only pay on US joins. So I only send them US traffic. And I capitalize on the other traffic in other ways.

                                                                                                                              I also send a lot to WEGCash. They don't pay on joins from a ton of foreign countries, so I don't send them traffic from those countries.

                                                                                                                              In both cases, these conditions were clearly laid out in the terms and conditions that I read and agreed to before signing up for the program and sending traffic.

                                                                                                                              Simple, no?

It's not theivery. The terms clearly say they won't pay you for it. What do you expect them to do? Redirect it all to a blank page saying "sorry" in 200 languages?

                                                                                                                                                  If you know you're not getting paid on those hits from Uzbekistan, why not send them somewhere else? Why send them to a program that you know won't pay for them, regardless of what they do with it?

                                                                                                                                                                      I already told you why i sent them traffic, because i was naive and couldnt believe they simply would steal from me.                                                                                                                                                                                       But I'm sure the terms clearly state they won't pay you for the foreign traffic. The fact that you made an assumption about what they would do with the foreign traffic is your problem, and yours alone.

                                                                                                                                                                                      If the terms tell you not to send foreign traffic and you send it regardless, it's of no consequence what they do with the traffic. If they tell you not to send it, there's no need to tell you what they'll do with it if you do send it, because they told you not to.

You should fuckign be on my side and not on theirs. Terms or not, they simply found a fucked up way to scam affiliates and pretend theyre very generous with their payouts while in the same time theyre stealing it right back from you.                                                                                                                                                                                                       psyko514 makes some good points BUT what Batuss is trying to say is that why the hell should a company be allowed NOT to pay you for traffic that THEY WILL make money on? I don't care if they state that they don't pay for foreign traffic in their TOS. Not paying out for something THEY make money from is the same as stealing.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      If they didn't make a single cent from the foreign traffic then it would make sense that they not pay you for it. If they will actually make money from that type of traffic then it would be fair to give a cut to the affiliate who sent it to you. Saying whatever in their TOS does not mean "We can make all the money and only pay you out for what we want at any given time"

                                                                                                                                                                                                      Of course, if it was me I would stop sending traffic to them if a lot of my traffic was foreign. No point letting them cash in on YOUR work.
