Anyone ever use a gift card to order from gamestop?

So all of the local stores are out of xboxes and halo2, so my wife (instead of goign online) decided to get me a gift card. So I figure, hey I'll just order it online they have plenty of them in stock. I pick all of the stuff I need, but they don't have any where to use the GC it looks like, nor do they have anything in any faq saying you can or can't use them.

I've tried to enter the number as a coupon as well, no luck.

We have the reciept for the GC, so I wonder if they will take it back for a refund. Any one ever have any experience with this or a similiar situation?

Most gift cards, work like credit cards. Unless it's for gamestop, then I have no clue Merry Xmas by the way.

    Don't reply. Let it die.

Thanks and a Merry Christmas to you as well.

There is a 16 digit number that begins with a 6, so I tried it as a Discover card, and as a Visa for kicks but it was a no go. I think my new plan of attack is to call them on Monday and ask, and if I can not use it online, I'll try to return it.

I just want to play Halo 2 now!

Return a GC? I think that goes beyond the point. I have never heard of this being done.

I realize it is strange, but it think it is just stupid that I can order a brand new xbox from their site and have it on Tuesday, yet the store won't have any until the end of next week. Which is not really a good option, as I'll be in Vegas next week, and want it now.

I could just order one online, but then I'm kinda stuck with a $300 gift card until the next 6 great games come out.

She is going over to the mall in a little bit, I'll letcha know how it pans out.

Chase was on here last night complaining about something similar with Sears.

That sucks, but I'm almost 100% sure that the Gamestop cards have to be redeemed in the stores.

If you want, you can send it to me. I'll put it to use. Plenty of XBoxes and PS2s in our stores. ;)

              Spend you some brain.
