Delivery cost approximately $2 a loaded mile. The 1370 are the largest Dome that will fit on a semi.

$2 per mile!!!!
It would cost thousands just to get the thing to your area depending on where you are.

:shrug: I'm not familiar with the usual cost of shipping via semi cross-country. Is that a bad deal? I wouldnt expect moving a 1370 sq ft housr to be cheap. It would make the $24K house a $27K house, if they were shipping from their mailing address in NE to here in OR.

I lived in one in Costa Rica for a while. They are very energy efficient and durable. Its like a big fort

i have experience with purchasing freight

2 dollars a mile is not expensive with todays fuel prices, and especially if the driver does not have a return load.

I've seen a few of these home around and they look sorta cheap to me. But for a second home or a vacation house in the mountains maybe.

I love that these cheap, cool looking homes are also fire-proof, termite-proof, rot-proof, hurricane and earthquake resistant, etc .. and totally no-maintenance.. no painting.. no shingles to replace.. And as you mentioned, an energy-efficent shape for heating/cooling. Seems so much smarter than traditional stick-built homes. I'm very tempted...
